A $2.5 Million Contribution from Canada Economic Development Supports a Key Project to Increase Productivity, Production Capacity, and Environmental Performance

Saint-Guillaume (Quebec), August 13, 2026 – Agrilait s.e.c. is proud to share the Government of Canada’s announcement (FR / EN) confirming a repayable contribution of $2.5 million from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) to support a major modernization project at Fromagerie St-Guillaume.

This large-scale project, valued at a total of $12.5 million, also benefits from a $6 million contribution from Investissement Québec.

These investments will allow Agrilait to pursue significant investments, including the acquisition and installation of new production equipment and the modernization of Fromagerie St-Guillaume’s wastewater treatment facilities. These investments will increase production capacity, improve productivity, and reduce the environmental footprint of operations.

Through its activities, including those of Fromagerie St-Guillaume, the company contributes to adding value to Canadian milk and creating high-value-added dairy products.

The modernization project is part of a long-term vision aimed at ensuring the sustainability of Fromagerie St-Guillaume’s operations and its competitiveness for years to come. In addition to supporting the company’s growth, these investments will strengthen its manufacturing capacity and further its efforts in environmental efficiency.

“DEC’s contribution plays a key role in ensuring the long-term viability of Fromagerie St-Guillaume’s operations. It allows us to modernize our wastewater treatment equipment, reduce our environmental impact, increase our manufacturing capacity, and improve our productivity. This investment thus provides a solid foundation for our development in Canada over the next 15 years.” — Francis Ouellet-Pagé, General Manager, Agrilait

For Agrilait, this government support also represents recognition of the importance of maintaining high-performing manufacturing infrastructure adapted to the realities of the industry. It will allow the company to invest confidently in its facilities and pursue its development while remaining deeply rooted in its community.

Promising investments for the region

Through these investments, Agrilait aims to contribute to the economic vitality of Saint-Guillaume and the Centre-du-Québec region, while consolidating its activities in Quebec’s dairy sector.

The modernization of the Fromagerie St-Guillaume facilities will allow the company to better meet its future needs, optimize its processes, and support its growth. It demonstrates Agrilait’s commitment to continuing to invest in its facilities, its teams, and the future of its operations in Quebec and Canada.
